Artistic Director, Jodie Wall
Jodie Wall has been teaching at the NRV Academy of Dance location for 19 years, ever since she answered an ad for a jazz instructor on a whim in college. While she now calls Christiansburg her home, she has made the journey while living in Roanoke and even as far away as Martinsville, just to be in the classroom with the students teaching the subjects she loves. She is so dedicated to the studio because she loves having the creative outlet of dance to relax and recharge her and she loves all the students here like they are family. She could not imagine the Christiansburg community without NRV Academy of Dance, and is so excited at the prospect of another great year!
President, Sarah Orren
Beginning dance at age 5, Sarah has always had a passion for the performing arts. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Communications from Virginia Tech and has a Masters Certification in
Non-Profit Management. She feels that the studio become a home away from home for both her daughter and herself, and is thrilled to be a part of the Executive Committee and the creation of NRV Academy of Dance. Sarah works as the Director of Operations at Card Isle Corporation and lives with her family in Christiansburg.
Vice President, Amy McPherson
Amy is the mom of two daughters – both former dancers at our studio. Although she never took dance, she has seen the amazing impact dance has had on her daughters and is excited to be part of the adventure of keeping this dance center moving forward. Amy is a Career Counselor at Virginia Tech and lives in Christiansburg with her husband Mike, daughters Sarah and Maggie, and cat Cooper.
Treasurer & Studio Manager, Sarah McPherson
Sarah is a recent graduate of Christopher Newport University. She began dancing at our studio in 4th grade and continued until she graduated from high school. She has also taken ballet classes in college for fun. As much as Sarah likes being on stage, she loves being behind the scenes even more — especially being the “Dance Mom” for her younger sister. For the past eight years Sarah has enjoyed helping out whenever she can around the studio and is looking forward to working with NRV Academy of Dance this year!
Secretary, Carrie Ingle
Carrie grew up dancing. She danced at our current location, before it became NRV Academy of Dance, for 20 years. The studio has always held a special place in her heart as a home away from home. She learned valuable life skills, and most importantly, a love of dance and friendship through her time at the studio. Now, the studio is a refuge for her and she’s so excited that her daughters can have a place to make lifetime friends and a place to cultivate their love of the performing arts. Carrie continues dancing in NRVAD's Cambria Tap class.
